Summer Sewing

About a week and a half ago, at the request of a certain little HootOwl, I began a small hiatus from the making of my grocery store felt foods (I am all done with veggies and fruits, just getting going on a meat department) to make some dresses and tops for my little ladies.

Last summer, I made Hoot a little Strawberry Shortcake sundress, and much to her dismay it no longer fits.  It would fit Bug, but Hoot (who is could usually careless that her sis is getting her hand-me-downs) is having none of that.  So the little Strawberry dress has been retired, put away for safekeeping, for me to pull out someday when my girl is grown and I need a reminder of last summer when she was two.

Aren't they sweet?  Even though they are wearing too small dresses with hiking shoes??  LOL  It doesn't look like that Strawberry dress is too bad in this picture, but the bodice was pretty tight and I had to tell her that this was her last day wearing it.

But that meant that I needed to get busy on some new dresses for both of my ladies.

My sewing machine (AKA "The Hardworking Lady") has been sewing up a storm for the last week and a half.

My girls have each gotten three dresses and a top.

And I have even made three dresses to sell.

Sewing for other people is a funny thing for me.  I have actually done quite a bit of it, and still have visions of this every single time:

BAHAHAHA!!! Annnnnnnndddd you are very welcome for that little blast from the past.  Poor Theo.

I have been using the money I make to finance more projects for my girls.  And you know what is next in the queue?  New Strawberry Shortcake dresses. :-)
